S7. Why does the MCB on the Dimmer Trip sometimes when a lamp fuses.
  1. Fusing of Tungsten Halogen Studio and Theatre Lamps
  2. A lamp normally fails at end of Life by fusing of filament. Often an arc then forms and as there is little resistance to limit the  current, this rises to a very high value which if maintained can result in a serious overload.
  3. A quick acting high breaking capacity MCB or fuse connected in the supply line of the dimmer disconnects the supply when this occurs
S8. If the Chilli Dimmer Fails is there a way to turn on the Lighting Fixtures?

  1. Yes, For the dimmer fail option it is possible to set the dimmer to fail to all channel ON or all channels OFF if the control processor is detected as no longer running.
  2. This is set using switch number 2 on the small blue three way switch inside the dimmer.
  3. With the switch in left or off position the dimmer will switch the outputs ON (default setting from factory)
  4. With the switch in right or on position the dimmer will switch the outputs OFF.
